Yellow Trillium and other wildflowers

We made our trek home through the Smokey Mountains and a long, twisting road through Maggie Valley. Along the road, the Yellow Trillium was in full bloom:

A couple of hikes through Brown County State Park in Nashville, Indiana, led us to two more Spring surprises:

And last of all - new to us -  we came across this little jewel near Lake Ogle just off Trail #8:

The name of this delicate flower is Showy Orchis. Yes, it is an orchid!

jekyll Island

Another winter spent on Jekyll Island - well, three months with a couple of Roadtrek trips to Florida: Marco Island to visit family and Sebring and Port St Lucie to visit Indiana friends. Missy Moo seems quite content on the boat or the Roadtrek. Critters at night around the Roadtrek really get her attention as well as ours at 3 am in the wee hours of the morning. I think she is territorial. Of course, she would get excited watching a dozen or so feral cats being fed by some kind folks behind Cracker Barrel in Sanford, FL!

Today we rode our bikes with the Kalens around the new convention center on Jekyll Island. It is quite impressive and the landscaping is outstanding. They have added several areas outside for weddings, beach volleyball or small concerts. The future looks good for Jekyll.

We only have about three weeks left and I haven't yet finished my teak project. Tomorrow is the day...........maybe.

Lasting Impressions

Well, you might be wonderin' where I've been: Jekyll Island, Florida, Australia, New Zealand, Italy and here: Mill Race Center in Columbus (IN) singing with the Silvertones and The Lasting Impressions. We were recently featured in The Republic newspaper in their Prime Time insert. We're getting ready for our Christmas shows, Dec. 9-11. Each group will be taking their Christmas shows to various service clubs, churches and retirement centers.

These pictures were taken from our summer show "Come to the Fair." My favorite song has to be "Bessie, the Heifer."

Come December 26, we'll be resuming our nautical life again.
